Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of the website. Continuing to browse means that you accept them. If you disagree with any condition, stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Harrison County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It is not a private investigation service or consumer reporting agency. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a tool for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or any other decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to direct readers to official criminal-record resources in Harrison County and Kentucky.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of all government offices. It neither stores official records nor conducts government checks, retrieves files, or submits forms for visitors.

The content identifies Harrison County and Kentucky custodians, including the sheriff, District and Circuit Court clerk, Administrative Office of the Courts, Kentucky State Police, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Public-office access is governed in part by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, while criminal-history dissemination is addressed by KRS 17.150. Some pages also connect to outside search services.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use content for a hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decision
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Violate federal, Kentucky, or local law
  • Gain or attempt unauthorized access to any system
  • Deploy a bot, scraper, or other automated collection tool
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this website or a linked service must never be used to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or unlawfully discriminate. Kentucky registry information is provided for public-safety awareness. Misuse against a registrant or family can lead to civil or criminal consequences, and registry data does not authorize vigilante conduct or adverse employment or housing action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create a background check, credit report, or consumer report. The same is true of services offered through our advertising relationships. Data from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Evaluate a housing or rental applicant
  • Make an employment decision
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Serve any other purpose governed by the FCRA

A lawful regulated check must be obtained through the appropriate official Kentucky channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

General Harrison County records information is not legal advice. Only a licensed Kentucky attorney can advise how a warrant, charge, conviction, or expungement law applies to a particular situation.

6. No Warranties

The website and all content are provided "as is." We make no promise that:

  • Outside search results are complete or correctly matched
  • Every page is free of defects or security risks
  • Operation will always be available or uninterrupted
  • Information is complete, accurate, or current

A charge may be amended, dismissed, sealed, or expunged after publication, so gaps and stale details are possible. Only the originating court or agency can make an official statement about a record.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to courts, sheriff and state pages, legal-aid resources, and outside search companies. Those destinations control their own content, availability, prices, and data practices. Their terms should be reviewed before use because we are not responsible for them.

8. Intellectual Property

Harrison County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, code, graphics, and logos. Written permission is required to copy, adapt, distribute, or create derivative work from them.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for loss arising from site use, linked services, or reliance on information obtained through either.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, actions, and related legal costs caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to website use must be brought in a court located in Kentucky.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A revision becomes effective when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed only as required for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
